Heads up boaters, expect to see a lot of nets in Lake Nipissing this month.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and Nipissing First Nation are embarking on a project to collect information about the fish living in Lake Nipissing.
The ministry says the project will allow for the collection of important fish population information to help manage the whole lake ecosystem, as well as help in the recovery of the walleye population in Lake Nipissing.
Over the course of three weeks, standardized nets are set for 20 hours in randomly chosen locations, according to the MNRF.
